Alternative Care providers at Animikii Ozoson receive support from a case manager who will help them to understand the needs of the child in their care and who will act as a liaison with the child’s case manager. They also provide support and guidance if needed, when the alternative care provider contacts the child’s family.
Alternative care providers are required to complete an orientation with the agency and participate in ongoing training. Examples of training provided include the following:

- Domestic Violence
- Non-violent Crisis Intervention
- Water and Ice Safety
- Attachment Caregiving
- Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
- Gang Awareness
- Cultural Camps & Land Based Teachings
