Our agency is bound by law to carry out the Child and Family Services Act of Manitoba. We are committed to ensuring that the children we serve are physically and emotionally safe and cared for.
When families are stressed, children are sometimes at risk of harm. Families can experience stress for a number of reasons such as addiction, anger management issues, limited parenting skills or mental health problems. When we become aware that a child may have been harmed or is at risk of being harmed within the family, it is our job to do everything possible to make sure that child is safe.
Whenever possible, while ensuring child safety, we will work with families on the issues that may be putting their children at risk of harm. When children have come into the care of the agency, we will work with families towards reunification by helping them to solve the problems that led to the children being at risk.
