Foster parents at Animikii Ozozon receive support from a social worker who will help them to understand the needs of the child in their care and who will act as a liaison with the child’s social worker. They also provide support and guidance if foster parent contact with the child’s family is needed.

Foster parents are required to complete an orientation to the agency and fostering and to also participate in ongoing training. Examples of topics covered include the following:

  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention
  • Water and Ice Safety
  • Attachment Caregiving
